Community Sustainability

Empowering Community Livelihoods through Skills Development

The Community Skills Development Programme (CSDP) is a flagship initiative of the Kabalega Foundation, designed to empower communities through practical vocational training, entrepreneurship skills, and hands-on capacity building. The programme is focused on improving livelihoods, reducing unemployment, and enabling participants to become self-reliant through income-generating skills.

It particularly targets youth, women, and persons with disabilities, ensuring inclusive access to skills development opportunities that can transform lives and strengthen household incomes across Uganda.

Through structured training and certification, the programme bridges the gap between unemployment and opportunity by equipping participants with market-relevant, practical skills that support both self-employment and job readiness.

Programme Overview

The Community Skills Development Programme is a structured skills training initiative implemented in collaboration with strategic partners across Uganda. It delivers hands-on vocational and entrepreneurial training in both urban and community-based settings, with a strong emphasis on practical application and real-world business creation.

Participants are trained in small, manageable groups to ensure personalized instruction, effective learning, and quality skills transfer. Upon completion of training, each participant receives a Certificate of Completion, supporting employability and enterprise development.
