In the heart of Bunyoro, a region steeped in history, resilience, and cultural richness, a powerful conversation is set to unfold. The 2nd Kabalega Memorial Lecture<\/strong>, organized by Kabalega Foundation<\/strong> in partnership with the Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom<\/strong> and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung<\/strong>, comes at a time when Uganda \u2014 and indeed Africa \u2014 is seeking transformative leadership rooted not only in political vision but in cultural integrity, indigenous knowledge, and innovative thinking.<\/p>\n Named in honor of Omukama Cwa II Kabalega<\/strong>, the legendary king of Bunyoro-Kitara who ushered in a period of profound transformation marked by territorial consolidation, flourishing trade, social re-organisation, strategic regional alliances, and a bold resistance against British colonial rule in the late 19th century, this annual memorial lecture goes beyond tribute. It is a call to action \u2014 to reclaim the values, wisdom, and leadership ethos that guided Kabalega\u2019s reign and apply them meaningfully to today\u2019s challenges.<\/p>\n This year\u2019s theme, “Culture, Knowledge & Innovation: Reimagining Leadership for Community Transformation”<\/strong>, is not just thought-provoking \u2014 it is timely and necessary.<\/p>\n Africa stands at a critical juncture. The global challenges of inequality, climate change, youth unemployment, and weakening cultural identity continue to test the resilience of communities.
